Botox, Dysport, Xeomin

Botox is a simple, in office treatment that temporarily reduces moderate to severe frown lines in the face. Botox was approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in 2002, and has since become a household name. Botox is an injectable purified protein that reduces the activity of muscles in the forehead that cause lines in the forehead to form over time. Competing products, Dysport and Xeomin, have also obtained FDA approval, and are also purified proteins now widely used for the same purpose. The treatment takes about 10 minutes, and within days there is a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and lines around the eye area. In addition to the immediate benefits, Botox, Dysport or Xeomin, when used over time, have a preventative role in decreasing the formation of new lines and wrinkles in the areas injected. Results can last 4 – 6 months, and can help keep your brows in a youthful position. If you are considering Botox treatment in the Baltimore Washington area, see Dr. Capone’s office in Towson.

Frown lines, or vertical lines that form between the brow, develop after years of squinting, concentrating or frowning. With the passage of time, the skin becomes less elastic and those lines between your brows can remain, even when your face is not moving.
With Dr. Capone’s expertise, you will still look natural, be able to frown, but without all of those wrinkles and creases between your brows.

When you raise your eyebrows, the skin on your forehead folds horizontally, which over time can lead to deep forehead wrinkles. If the forehead area is treated too aggressively, it can lead to a sagging brow muscle. Dr. Capone’s conservative approach to forehead wrinkles keep you looking natural.

Another sign of the aging face is crow’s feet, the branch like lines at the outer corners of the eye, which are caused by repeated smiling and squinting. Injections are a very popular and effective treatment for smoothing out this area, and for preventing wrinkles from forming. Women typically begin treating this area in their late 20’s or early 30’s.

Other areas very effectively treated with Botox, Dysport and Xeomin include bunny lines, neck bands, chin dimpling and vertical lip lines. Dr. Capone is an expert at determining which areas to treat to help you achieve the look you desire.
